The CONtraflow staff had a great time at CoastCon this year, as always. Along with the Guests of Honor, among the highlights were the Merchant Room and Kid Con. The extra space in the Mississippi Coast Convention Center, which looks fantastic now by the way, enabled the con to get a bouncy-house for the kids which I don't believe I ever saw unoccupied. As usual, gaming was front and center for CoastCon and the area was humming throughout the weekend. The Saturday Night Dance Party at the hotel was fun and well-attended, particularly the Iron Party competition tables which featured "flowers" as the challenging theme ingredient.
Our fan table was between our long-time friends with Mobicon and the good folks with Louisiana Science Fiction and Costuming Festival, formerly known as Babelcon. As of this writing LaSciFiC is past (it was in Baton Rouge two weekends after CoastCon,) but CONtraflow did have a table there and we will have a report up. We will,, of course, be at Mobicon, in Mobile, Alabama May 20-22.
